Royalty Grown Up

Three misfits who always made visit to Canterlot Castle interesting as kids have grown up to be pretty badass-looking young women. From left to right: Apollonia aka Sunshine (17), Artemis (16) and Skyla (18).

Puberty hits alicorns like a truck, it turns out; they can undergo very drastic changes throughout very short time. Puberty happens when their real magic is ready to manifest itself, usually happening around 13-16th year of age.

Princess Apollonia, more commonly known as Sunshine, had undergone the most drastic appearance-wise puberty changes. From rather short, chubby, green-eyed, creamy-coated filly with greenish mane into what she's now. At first she was a bit uneasy, getting used to changes that happened, quite literally, overnight. Celestia was absolutely delighted with just how much Apollonia resembles her grandmother, original Sun Alicorn. She's optimistic and cheerful as always. Tends to overuse the thundering voice.

When a filly, Artemis showed no signs of inheriting changeling genes from her father appaerance-wise whatsoever; during her puberty, however, genes activated, making her undergo some quite drastic and painful (horn morphing) changes. Artemis grew up from biggest troublemaker of the group into rather calm, tomboyish, but quite nasty young girl. She's the huntress. She also has creepy, vertical set of second eyelids that she uses to block light during the day. Her eyes are really bad with light.

Skyla was absolutely normal unicorn until recently. Well, not really normal, because she was still a blank flank at age of 17, but when her younger sister, Flurry Heart, turned for dark arts and nearly destroyed Crystal Empire, she didn't hesitate to stop her. During her quest she had gained three things; her cutie mark, alicorn wings and title of Princess of Hope. She was very happy that she could now fly with her friends. She had sealed Flurry within a mirror and now tries to reason with her, despise Sunshine and Artemis thinking it to be stupid (they're trying to help anyway).
